With the sun shining Cypress Mountain turned the lifts on November 14th marking the start of the 2012/2013 season on the North Shore. I headed down from Whistler with Brittany Davis to check it out. With one run open we were pleasantly surprised at the ten features in the terrain park. It had something for everyone, from a small flat box for the beginners to a down round bar into the culvert pole jam for those looking for some airtime. New this year Cypress Mountain will have a Katal Landing pad for public use in the Patio Park.
While it is clear that the magic of snowmaking made this day possible, with cooler temperatures and precipitation in the forecast it won’t be long till the rest of the mountain is open.
Stoked to have lift tickets back in my hands. Thanks Cypress Mountain.
Brittany got some airtime with a Backside 1 out of the culvert.
Opening day warm up runs for me with a front lip on the down bar
I even found a natural feature to hit while dodging a rocky landing
